Welcome!

Sally Ditzel Body Control Qualified Pilates Teacher

I have been attending Pilates classes since 2006 having been recommended it by my Osteopath after a cycling accident. I had always kept myself fit, enjoying many sports and leisure activities but after my accident I suffered joint and back pain and found it difficult doing the things I so enjoyed. It was time to do something about it!

I am passionate about Pilates and have experienced first-hand the amazing benefits that can be gained from it. Very quickly my joint pain diminished and I very rarely suffer from lower back pain. The icing on the cake is that my posture improved as well.

I realised very early on that I wanted to share these benefits with as many people as possible. So in 2012 I qualified as a Level 3 Body Control Pilates teacher. Body Control is one of the leading worldwide providers of Pilates training due to their rigorous course material and examinations, which go beyond the normal requirements of a standard Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) Level 3 qualification.

Since qualifying I have gone on to complete the following additional courses:

  • Pilates Evolution
  • Pilates for Bone Health (Osteoporosis)
  • Pilates with the Band
  • Intermediate Matwork
  • Pregnancy 1 & 2,
  • Pilates for the Older Person
  • Pilates with Roller
  • 4 day Level 4 Lower Back Pain
  • Pilates for Mental Wellbeing
  • Pilates for Knee issues

In addition to the above I regularly attend workshops to keep my knowledge up to date and to continue my own professional development.

Whether you are a first time exerciser or an established sportsman or sportswoman Pilates is suitable for you. Many sportspeople have already realized the benefits of Pilates as it complements their fitness regime.

Medical practitioners regularly recommend Pilates for those with back problems.

Pilates focuses on the deep postural muscles needed to support our body; it builds core strength from within, enabling you to achieve both strength and flexibility. It helps you change the way you think about your body, improving your posture and range of movement

Many of us lead sedentary lives, working at a desk for the majority of the day or performing repetitive movements, this can cause stress and tension to build up in the body and mind. Pilates can help to relieve the effects of day to day activities on our bodies.

Classes are small, secure and calm, relaxing background music enhances the whole mind, body and soul effect.
